Our Learning Project

Welcome to Our World Project, a personal educational project dedicated to promoting the study of geography! Join us as we showcase our class's journey through geography and our culminating classroom geography fair, right here from South Paris, Maine. Discover how we're raising awareness and making geography fun.

Our World, Our Communities

For this project, students will select a place to study, such as a country, state, city, or community. Through this project, students will explore geographic and cultural features of their chosen location. They will learn about how people live, including traditions, food, housing, and daily life. Students will also identify what makes their chosen place unique and compare it to their own community by noting similarities and differences. This exploration helps students develop an understanding of the world around them and recognize that communities can be both different and alike.

Project Choices

Students may choose one of the following project types:

  • Poster or collage.

  • 3D model (landmark, home, map).

  • Travel brochure.

  • Digital slideshow (with adult support)

Project-Based Learning

What Is Project-Based Learning?
